In continued celebration of the museum centennial and Frank Lloyd Wright’s 150th birthday (both in June 2017), Andrea Gyorody, Ellen Johnson ’33 Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, presents a special program at the Weltzheimer-Johnson house on Ellen Johnson’s personal art collection. Johnson bequeathed the collection to the Allen Memorial Art Museum after her passing.
Gyorody’s talk will focus on the dialogue between Johnson’s collection— including works by Christo, Carl Andre, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, and Roy Lichtenstein—and Wright’s architectural design, which Johnson herself referred to as a “work of art.” A reception will follow the program.
Advance tickets for Gyorody’s talk available through the AMAM Education Department by contacting Jill Greenwood at firstname.lastname@example.org or 440-775-8671.
