Oberlin College will host Ken Harbaugh, disaster relief expert and candidate for U.S. Congress, who will give a presentation entitled, “Military Humanitarians: Deploying Veterans as Emergency Responders and Civic Leaders.”

Harbaugh is a former Navy pilot, and the recent President of Team Rubicon Global, a disaster relief organization that has helped train over 50,000 veterans to deploy in emergency response teams around the world. Team Rubicon recently engaged in its largest response efforts ever with teams deployed in Texas, Puerto Rico, Florida, and Dominica.

“Now more than ever, we must recognize our veterans as valuable public servants —both in and out of uniform,” said Ken Harbaugh. “Every vet has sworn an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. And our ability to engage military men and women in continued service beyond the uniform makes our communities and our democracy stronger.”

Ken Harbaugh is running for Congress to represent Ohio’s 7th District, which includes 10 counties, including portions of Lorain, Huron, and Medina.

There is no cost to attend this event. All are welcome.
