Derick Evans comes to Ohio to present an hour-long performance of original experimental pop music, including his one-person existential musical “Through The Night.” His solo act will also feature a variety of instrumental playing and lush backing tracks in what will prove to be an entertaining and meaningful evening. Everyone is welcome.

Hosted by Asian American Alliance.

About the Artist
Derick Evans is a composer, artist, performer, and teacher living in Buffalo, NY, whose work is rooted in a unique brand of personal mysticism and whimsy, often as a means of engaging the turbulence of existence. His compositions, which adopt both experimental and popular styles and, more recently, embrace elements of performance art, have been performed by groups such as the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Wooster Symphony Orchestra, Verb Ballets, the Rivertown Duo, and Norway’s Bifrost Ensemble.

Evans frequently performs music and art pieces as a solo act or in collaboration with other artists. In 2017 he premiered his one-person musical, “Through The Night,” at Sugar City in Buffalo. Evans is currently pursuing his doctorate in music composition at SUNY Buffalo.
