Conservationist, free speech advocate, and author, Terry Tempest Williams has a long history of environmental activism. Currently the Provostial Scholar at Dartmouth College, Williams writes of how environmental issues are social issues that ultimately become matters of justice.

Recognized by the Sierra Club, the Wilderness Society, and the Center for the American West, Williams has won many awards for her writing and her advocacy. The author of Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family & Place, An Unspoken Hunger: Stories from the Field, and When Women Were Birds, Williams’ writing has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times, Orion Magazine, and numerous anthologies. 

The Convocation is free and open to the public.
