The Big Parade is a community-wide celebration of arts and creativity. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to participate and walk in the parade. Come to a series of workshops to learn how to build a float and other creative items for the parade. Each session is from 1-4 p.m.
Robin VanLear teaches us the skills and nuance of paper mache. VanLear leads Cleveland's esteemed Parade the Circle. Don't miss this fun -illed day of expertise and corn starch. *Location: Warner Hall Studio 3
Ian Petroni, another Parade the Circle veteran and carpentry/puppet builder extraordinaire, will work at the space to get those big puppets and floats going. Come with a group of pals or an organization you work with to get the ball rolling.
Oberlin's own Claudio Orso-Giacone leads us in mask-making. Orso-Giacone works with recycled materials to make beautiful collage-esque puppets and masks. You'll surely leave with a second-gen masterpiece and a smile.
Ian Petroni is back!!! Maybe you have a last-minute idea the week before the parade or you need his expertise to put the finishing touches (mechanisms?) on your float/puppet! Come and play!
