This talk will explore how the shift in the social decomposition process—body/society/body—has evolved as we live in quarantine, in small apartments, on Zoom, in homes, gardens, city parks, and on occupied land. How do we move and breathe in a pandemic that continually takes our breath away? How do we acknowledge the decomposed matter of black life? How can we dance with and through an embodied de-composition process and create movement that regenerates itself? Presented by mayfield brooks.

Presented as part of Moving Bodies and Social Justice, a series of speakers, workshops and pedagogical conversations will take place throughout the spring semester.
