Discover the different—and sometimes competing—visions of America beneath the surface of Severin Roesen’s Still Life with Fruit (ca. 1865-70) and Thomas Satterwhite Noble’s The Present (1865). Both paintings are currently on view in the experimental installation How can Museum Labels be Antiracist? After an introduction to the works by Alexandra Letvin, assistant curator of European and American art, Oberlin students will present new labels for the works that they composed as part of a curatorial workshop on museum interpretation.

The video will appear on our Facebook feed and Vimeo page. Contact the Education Department at 440-775-8671 with any questions.
