2022-23 Senior Concerto Competition

The final round of the 2022-23 Senior Concerto Competition will take place in Finney Chapel on Saturday, October 8, 2022!  Conservatory students in their final year of study who have advanced from a preliminary audition will compete in the finals to be chosen for a solo performance with the Oberlin Orchestra in the Spring of 2023.

Ilya Poletaev Associate Professor of Piano at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal and the Assistant Director at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival’s Choral Week

Kevork Mardirossian the James H. Rudy Professor of Music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music

Randall Scarlata Associate Professor of Voice at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and co-artistic director of the Alpenkammermusik Chamber Music Festival in Carinthia, Austria and on the faculty of the Tanglewood Music Center

Christopher Sales Bassoonist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Instructor of Bassoon at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Melia Tourangeau ’94 is President & CEO of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
