Etana H. Dinka teaches African history. His research interests include the political history of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, and Oromo-Ethiopia historiographies.

He has taught at various higher education institutions in Ethiopia, including Adama University of Science and Technology, and Robe College of Teacher Education.

Etana Dinka is the author of Society, Revolution and Military Intervention in Ethiopian Politics: Experiences among the Macca Oromo of Wallagga (1974-1991).

He has also published in FCH Annals: Journal of the Florida Conference of Historians and in Proceedings of International Conference of Social Science and Humanity.
