Health and wellness are vital for academic success, but college can present unexpected challenges.

For many students, college is their first time living away from home. This experience can include a number of challenges in areas such as social wellness, emotional well-being, and environmental wellness. New students may need to contend with forming new friendships, homesickness, and acclimating to a new area.

Oberlin is committed to helping our students stay well. One of the ways we do this is through Early Alert, an easy-to-use, text-message-based service. Early Alert provides confidential assessment and connects students to resources. Participation in this program is voluntary.
