Biography
Darian earned her B.A. in biology with a minor in Africana studies from Oberlin in 2020. She was a Bonner and Questbridge Scholar, as well as a Resident Assistant and Peer Mentor. She spent most afternoons tutoring children at the Boys and Girls Club of Oberlin through the America Counts program where she developed a passion for education, specifically in majority-minority schools.
Darian spent the last year working with an education non-profit, cultivating her teaching skills as a math Learning Coach in an urban elementary school setting. She has returned to Oberlin to work as the HHMI STEM Fellow, where she will support programming that fosters community among marginalized groups in STEM. Darian is excited to have the opportunity to help make STEM education at Oberlin more inclusive in this new capacity.
