Oberlin’s Connect Cleveland program is a daylong experience for first-year students to familiarize themselves with Greater Cleveland and the range of opportunities in the area.

Planning for Orientation Week

Orientation is scheduled to run from August 24-28, 2020 and is required for all incoming students. However, due to the implications of COVID-19, all program dates are subject to change. We expect to have an update by mid-June. Refer to the college’s Coronavirus Updates page for the most current information.

Connect Cleveland helps new students build connections with each other as they learn about Greater Cleveland arts and culture, connect with Obies in the area, and explore future service, internship, and employment opportunities.

This 35-minute trip to Cleveland is made carbon neutral thanks to EnviroAlums, a group of alumni who are passionate about sustainability and social justice and who seek to empower students.

Emissions from transportation to and from Cleveland have been calculated and will be offset—invested in energy-saving projects to reduce the equivalent carbon emissions in Cleveland. This is part of Oberlin College’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2025.
