In general, a student must be registered for work sufficient to complete all requirements for the degree(s) sought by the end of the last semester in residence to be eligible to participate in the annual Commencement exercises following that semester.
Eligibility to Graduate
Students who have questions about their eligibility to participate in Commencement exercises should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (440) 775-8450.

Students who have permission to finish their work away from Oberlin may participate in Commencement exercises only after all requirements have been met.
Mid-year 2019 graduates and their families are invited to participate in all Commencement/Reunion Weekend festivities, including Commencement.
Your family members in record with the Academic Advising Resource Center (AARC) will receive Commencement mailings if the graduating student has provided the AARC with address information. If this information was not provided, send an email to email@example.com and provide the name and address of the parent not listed with the office.
To protect the privacy of the student, our policy requires that the graduating senior must make the request.
Tickets and family housing keys may be picked up at the Commencement/Reunion Welcome Center in the Dewy Ward ’34 Alumni Center, Suite 4. Updated information regarding tickets and housing will be available in mid-March.

Commencement/Reunion Weekend Registration
Parents and family members can register for events, housing, and meals beginning in mid-March.
To ensure your name is pronounced correctly during the Commencement ceremony, an email will be sent to you directly from NameCoach. The software will permit you to speak your name to ensure accurate pronunciation. If you do not receive an email by April 20, please contact Brittany Skolnicki.
You may order graduation announcements and class rings from Jostens .
A photographer from GradImages will be at your ceremony to take a candid photograph of you at your special moment of recognition.
- You will receive a free passport-sized digital proof of this photo on an order card within 5-7 days following the ceremony.

- Since photographs will be available, we encourage family members and guests to remain in their seats, relax, and enjoy the ceremony.

Registration for meal tickets will be available online in mid-March. Graduating seniors will use their OCID for access to Stevenson Dining Hall. Mid-year graduates will receive a temporary ID card for the same purpose upon arrival.
If you are planning to attend any of the special event meals during Commencement/Reunion Weekend, use the "Graduating Student" registration link as described above to reserve your meal tickets. These meal tickets are free for graduating seniors and are limited to one ticket per student.
Tickets for family and friends must be purchased separately using the “Parent and Family Member” registration form. Please only request tickets for events you plan to attend to ensure enough space for all interested students.

Graduating Senior Housing
Graduating seniors will be able to stay in their assigned housing throughout Senior Week and Commencement activities. If you are in residence during the spring 2020 semester and already have housing on- or off-campus, do not request housing on the registration form. You will remain in your current room, village house, or off-campus house.
Students are expected to check out of housing by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, the day after Commencement. If you have further questions about housing or the checkout process, send email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 440-775-8472.
Mid-year Graduate Housing
The registration site will be available by mid-March. Students who graduated in December and are eligible to return to campus for Senior Week and Commencement/Reunion Weekend activities are housed in Zechiel Hall. Indicate your need for housing on the Graduate Registration form.
Students can pick up keys and a temporary ID card in the Office of Residential Education, Stevenson Hall - Griswold Commons from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 19. If arriving after 5 p.m., pick up keys and ID cards from the Office of Safety and Security.

In May, graduating seniors and mid-year graduates can expect to receive a letter from the Office of the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary with processing instructions.
