Lena (she/they) is a fourth year student double-majoring in Religion and Theater with a minor in Dance. She is from Los Angeles, California, but spent two years in high school living in Shanghai, China.

Lena has worked closely with the College's administration, beginning with serving on the Student Senate during the first semester of her freshman year. On Senate, they worked with Campus Health and Campus Community workings group. Most of their time in Student Senate focused on managing the shift to online courses and creating spaces for students to find connections despite the distance caused by Covid. They’re currently serving as a College Liaison for the student-led organization SOSHA (Survivors of Sexual Harm and Allys).

Outside of academics, Lena works as a Peer Advising Leader, leading first-year students through their orientation and teaching a bi-weekly course to help students adapt to college life. She also works as a Captain of the club Women and Trans Rugby team, which she has been a part of since her freshman year. Continuing with her interest in the clubs that are offered at Oberlin, they are an active member of the Oberlin Circus group, performing and practicing aerials and tumbling.

Lena has loved being able to explore the different avenues of performance that Oberlin offers. They were able to have the opportunity to combine their theater major and dance minor through choreographing and acting in one of the Oberlin Musical Theater Spring musicals, Chicago. They have also done other on-campus theater productions, as well as departmental dance shows.
