Julia (she/her) is a fourth year Politics major originally from San Francisco, California. She also has a minor in History, alongside a concentration in International Affairs. She is interested in international politics, and has also taken language classes in both the French and Arabic departments while at Oberlin.
Julia chose to come to Oberlin because of the sense of community and the easy access to music opportunities. Attending the All Roads program for admitted students during her senior year of high school allowed her to become familiar with the campus and gain an understanding of what life is like here for students at Oberlin. Additionally, the proximity to the Conservatory and the abundance of music opportunities for Arts and Sciences students allowed her to continue to pursue her passions for music in addition to her studies.
Outside of the classroom, Julia also works in the Oberlin College Archives, where she helps identify and preserve documents and photographs that are significant to Oberlin’s rich history. She has also been involved in several music groups on campus and has played the flute in both the Oberlin College Wind Ensemble and the Arts & Sciences Orchestra.
After Oberlin, Julia hopes to pursue a career in law and international diplomacy and hopes to learn as many languages as she can.
