Senior Admissions Fellow: Hannah Scholl

smiling red-haired young womanwith glasses.

Hannah (She/her) is from Wellesley, Massachusetts, and is double majoring in Politics and German, and minoring in Environmental Studies. A trained classical singer, she was initially drawn to Oberlin based on the ability to be involved with a top-tier music Conservatory, without having to major in music. This has held true today as she has been able to be in two choirs, take secondary voice lessons, and even participate in a vocal masterclass at Oberlin.

In addition to music, Hannah is constantly astonished by the opportunities that Oberlin has been able to give her over her four years to allow her to explore and prepare her for her career interests, as well as to experience personal growth and once-in-a-lifetime experiences- whether it be getting flown to Greece to represent Oberlin at the Athens Democracy Forum in association with the New York Times through the Global Liberal Arts Alliance, interning on the Hill through the Oberlin Congressional Winter Term Internship, getting scuba-diving certified in Mexico for her first winter term, working as a paid policy research intern through the Law and Public Policy Career Community,  getting funding to work on a campaign and write an electoral politics focused research paper through the Cole Scholars Program and the Oberlin Initiative in Electoral Politics, attending a civic engagement conference hosted by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, eating meals frequently with a famous German poet through the Max Kade Writer- in-Residence Program- the list goes on and on.

In addition to being an admissions senior fellow on campus, Hannah currently serves as the Chair on the board of the Green Edge Fund, a group that supports projects that promote environmental sustainability and efficiency through loan and grant allocations in the college and town of Oberlin. In the past, she has also enjoyed being a politics research assistant, an America Reads tutor, a German tutor, and cast member in an OMTA student musical. In her free time, she enjoys contradancing, hiking, eating desserts from Blue Rooster, cardio boxing at Shanks, and bragging about how she once had an original Picasso and Chagall in her room through Art Rental.
