Planning Ahead for Summer

COVID-19 Testing

The College will continue to provide symptomatic and asymptomatic testing through Friday, June 3, 2022, at Hales Gym during the published hours for students, faculty and staff.

PCR test results will still take 2 to 4 days to be returned, so plan ahead if you need a test for travel or comfort purposes when heading to your summer destination. If you only need a rapid test, you can let the testing center staff know. Rapid test results are available in a matter of minutes, but may not always be accepted by all airlines, venues, or travel destinations so remember to check ahead of time what kind of test you may need.

Travel Planning

All members of the Oberlin community are encouraged to stay up-to-date on COVID-19 destination considerations when traveling this summer. Keep in mind that on May 3, the CDC issued revised travel advice.

Events on campus are to follow all ObieSafe policies including indoor masking, gathering, and eating guidelines. If you have any specific questions not addressed in the Spring 2022 FAQ, reach out to obiesafe@oberlin.edu for assistance.

Guests coming to campus to celebrate the Commencement 2022 events are not required to provide proof of vaccination status, but are required to comply with other ObieSafe protocols, including indoor masking.

Remember to Report Cases to ObieSafe

During the end of semester crunch, it is still important that all cases of COVID-19 on campus are reported to obiesaferesults@oberlin.edu to ensure timely contact tracing and other important processes that take place when a person is ill with COVID. All members of our campus community are required to participate in the contact tracing process and respond to emails and phone calls related to their case promptly.
