Newly-Expanded Dining Choices on Campus

From freshly-frothed cappuccinos, to new made-from-scratch lunch options on South Campus, and the transition to a new, local purveyor to meet the needs of students observing Jewish and Halal customs, AVI Fresh is pleased to welcome students back this spring to an even more enhanced campus dining experience! COVID-19 precautions are still a part of our daily routines, but your friends in dining have been working hard during the past few months to boost residential life.

Espresso, cappuccino, and latte are now available at Azariah’s Café. Our partners from Goldberry Roasting Co. look forward to greeting students and staff on the ground floor of Terrell Main Library for daily coffee and espresso-based beverages, along with an assortment of lunch and snack items.  Feel free to swipe your meal card for these custom-made beverages!

Enjoy Lord Saunders on south campus—now at lunch, too. By popular demand, we’re launching a pilot to meet the needs of those on South Campus and in the Conservatory.  Freshly-prepared, made-from-scratch entrees, sides, and accompaniments reflective of the African diaspora are offered Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Have a suggestion for a menu item you’d like to see? Just let us know!

Enhanced Grab + Go selections mean more value. Keep in mind that when time is at a premium, students can swipe for additional meals up to four times at once on the same day. Enjoy Umami’s sushi, poke bowls, ramen, and special entrees; daily fresh-made sandwiches and salads at all retail outlets and dining halls; and custom-blended smoothies to-go at Stevenson’s GoYeo.

Ohio Kosher of Beachwood, Ohio, is now our local purveyor of Certified Kosher meats at Talcott. And, In keeping with the tradition of Jewish laws, our Heritage Kosher Style kitchen is now dairy free. Join us for lunch Sunday through Friday and for dinner Sunday through Thursday.  Our professional team of chefs prepare each meal from scratch and with care for you!

Now exclusively serving Halal chicken campus wide, and a Ramadan meal plan is in the works. In partnership with our broadline distributor, Halal chicken will be a part of every chicken-based menu item across campus starting February 1. And speaking of dates, while Ramadan is not observed until April 12, the college is consulting with AVI Fresh for a Ramadan meal plan during the month-long observance. (More information is forthcoming.)  Furthermore, to aid those observing Halal in their daily meal planning, look for the “H” symbol alongside menu items indicating that a particular food offering is Halal.

Coming soon: mobile ordering and text-alert pickup at Umami and Rathskeller. As food trends evolve, AVI Fresh is eager to meet the needs of students on the go. Keep an eye out for communication that will enable students to order meals in advance and then pick them up in a quick and contact-free manner.
