Coronavirus Update: Monitor Your Health Status

To Oberlin College Faculty and Staff:

In an effort to support a request Governor Mike DeWine made this afternoon, Oberlin College is asking all employees to take their temperature daily before coming in to work. The goal is to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone registering a temperature over 100.4 degrees treat themselves as potentially having the virus. If you have a temperature over 100.4 degrees, please call your supervisor and do not come in to work.

If you are unable to take your temperature before coming to work, you may call Student Health Services at (440) 775-8180 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and arrange to get your temperature taken.

The college is creating a telecommuting policy that will minimize the number of people on campus at any one time. That process will be completed by the end of the week.

If you feel ill or are concerned about coming to work, please remain home, contact your supervisor and arrange to take paid time off.

Thank you for your attention to this effort at keeping all of us safe from COVID-19. We will send reminders of this effort periodically.
