Anton Crooks started at Oberlin College in March 2017. He received a BFA in Theater Arts, Design and Production with a concentration in Electrics at East Carolina University in 2015. Crooks has worked professionally for different venues including the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, ECU Loessin Playhouse, and Oberlin Summer Theater Festival (OSTF).
His work as a master electrician includes such shows as Return to the Forbidden Planet, Angels in America, Treasure Island, and Dracula, among others. He also has worked as a lighting designer extensively in dance with show credits including Beauty and the Beast for the Greenville Civic Ballet, the Dance at Wright series at ECU, and as a recreation artist for the Koresh Dance Company’s Standing in Tears.
He occasionally works as a sound designer and with credits including for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, the Miracle Worker,A Streetcar Named Desire, and the Tragedy of Coriolanus.
He has also worked at OSTF in prior years as the master electrician, technical director, and sound designer.
