In-person campus visits are currently available on a limited basis. The following modifications are in place to protect the health of our guests, students, and employees.
Oberlin College and Conservatory is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and has followed local, state, and national health organization guidance in developing this phased re-opening plan. Please review these guidelines so you know what to expect during your visit experience.
So that we can offer the safest and most positive visit experience, registration for a campus visit is required. Walk-in visitors who arrive and do not have a scheduled appointment will be offered a campus map and given the opportunity for a self-guided tour.
Tour groups will be limited to two (2) families per tour and tours will not enter campus buildings. Please remember to dress for the weather. Please bring your own water bottle for the tour if needed. Refreshments and campus dining facilities are not available at this time.
The tour will explore all major areas of the conservatory complex, including recital halls and practice spaces. Currently, conservatory tours will be conducted outside, following the perimeter of the complex. However, the format of the conservatory tour may be adapted for health and/or weather reasons depending on the current circumstances.
Face coverings are required of our employees and our guests, even when outdoors. The Office of Admissions also strongly encourages visitors to wear a mask with multiple layers or double mask per CDC guidelines. This is the best way for us to ensure the health and safety of all involved in the visit experience. If you are unable to wear a covering due to a particular health reason, please contact us in advance to let us know.
Oberlin will have a supply of disposable face coverings available for guests who don’t have or forget to bring one.
Tour guides, staff, and guests will be required to use proper social distancing (remaining 6 feet apart) throughout the visit.
All guests are asked to do a health self-check the day of their visit. Tour guides and staff also have this requirement for each day they work. Anyone who is not feeling well, who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and/or who realizes they may have been exposed to the virus in the past 14 days should refrain from visiting/coming to work. If you need to cancel your visit, please know that you will not be penalized in the application process. The health and safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority.
