For more effective scavenging, try to get a garbage route map from the city you live in. Some cities also do large scale pick-ups. IF YOU LIVE IN OBERLIN: Here is the schedule for trash collection:

• No pick-up on Monday
  
• Edgemere Place, Reamer Place, Elm Street, Prospect Street, Union Street, Hollywood Ave, Kimberly Circle, Willowbrook Street, Cedar Street, and College Street between Prospect and Professor Street are picked up on Tuesday.
  
• Beech Street, Sycamore Street, Pyle S. Amherst Road, Woodhaven Place, Morgan Street, Woodland Ave, Colony Drive, N Pleasant Street, Hawthorn Street, Glenhurst Street, Parkwood Street, Professor Street until the Railroad tracks, and West College Street from Pyle S. Amherst to Prospect are all picked up on Wednesday.
  
• Lorain Street, Willard Street, Walnut Street, Orchard Street, Spring Street, King Street, Shipherd Circle, Main Street, College Street between Pleasant and Oberlin Road, and Oberlin Road between College Street and Plum Creek are all picked up Thursday.
  
• Hamilton Street, Lincoln Street, Washington Street, Monroe Street, Roosevelt Street, Professor Street until the railroad tracks, S. Pleasant Street, Grafton Street, Sumner Street, Locust Street, Groveland Street, Park Street, and Vine Street are picked up on Friday.
  

DO NOT TAKE RECYCLABLE MATERIALS (BOTTLES, CANS, PLASTIC) FROM THE CURB. DO NOT OPEN TRASH CANS OR BAGS.
DO NOT MAKE A MESS.
