The Conservatory of Music's opera theater department, in association with the theater and dance program, presented Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette in November. The production featured conservatory students double-cast in the principle roles of Romeo and Juliette: seniors Daniel Paget and Rhiannon Giddens (right) and senior Limmie Pulliam and junior Dea Lunsford. The opera was directed by Jonathan Field, an assistant professor of music and director of opera theater at the conservatory. Ward Holmquist '81, named one of the top 11 young conductors in America by Opera News, conducted members of the Oberlin Orchestra.
