DEBORAH VOGEL

Deborah Vogel was mentored into the the field of movement analysis and ideokinesis by Irene Dowd in NYC.  Deborah was teaching modern dance at Brooklyn College as well as heading up the dance division of the Brooklyn College Preparatory Center.  The lure of analyzing movement and coaching people towards physical health deepened and she joined the staff of Richard Bachrach, DO, where she cofounded the Center for Dance Medicine with Dr. Bachrach. 

Deborah joined the OC department in 1989 as a visiting instructor and lecturer.  She continues to conduct workshops in injury prevention, and writing a free Dancing Smart Newsletter which can be found at www.thebodyseries.com.  She has written numerous articles on dance technique and injury prevention which have appeared in Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher and Pointe magazines.  Her book, Tune Up Your Turnout:  A Dancer's Guide, was published in 2005 as well as co-authored a two level Functional Anatomy Guide for Dancers in 2006.

She has three incredible children, Erika, Ian & Dylan. 

Deborah teaches, Modern Dance 1, Body Reeducation and Alignment, Dance Conditioning, Introduction to Somatic Studies, and Physical Wellness for Musicians.
