Sustainable Community Associates (SCA)
SCA is a development group founded in 2001 by three recent Oberlin College graduates: Naomi Sabel, Josh Rosen, and Ben Ezinga. SCA promotes environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable development. SCA's first endeavor is the East College Street Project, a community development venture that redevelops an abandoned brownfield in downtown Oberlin into a sustainably designed, mixed-use building containing 46 apartments for sale and 12,000 square feet of commercial space.

Youth Energy Squad
The Youth Energy Squad (YES) is a team of local youth, adult supervisors, and college students that lower the utility bills of low-income homes in Oberlin through free weatherization, efficiency, and conservation. Since its inception in 2004, the Youth Energy Squad has served over 60 Oberlin households, saving low-income Oberlinians over $30,000 per year in total. Youth participants receive a small stipend for the completed work.

Wind Energy Project
This is a joint project of the City of Oberlin, Oberlin College, New Russia Township, and Oberlin Municipal Power and Light (OMPLS). The goal of the project is to gather wind data for 12 consecutive months to be used in assessing the potential for commercial wind power near Oberlin, OH.
