Article errors cited

To the Editors:

First, I’d like to thank the Review for publishing the article about the Enrolled Student Survey currently in the field at Oberlin. I’d also like to thank those who have responded to the survey and encourage the others in the sample to do so.
There were a couple of errors in the article I wish to point out. Diana Chapman Walsh, President of Wellesley College, is the Chair of the COFHE Board of Directors, not I. As Chair of the COFHE Assembly, which is the body representing each of the thirty-one members of the Consortium, I have a seat on the Board but to characterize “Ross as the Boss” is certainly not accurate and distorts the collegial nature of the Consortium.
Also, the article abruptly ends with the quote...to encourage a high.” Now, I could make a few jokes about that but suffice it to say that it should have read “...to encourage a high response rate, we will award $25 Oberlin College Bookstore gift certificates to twenty randomly selected respondents.”
