Cinema Studies Major Approved By EPPC, Completed

In response to growing pressure from students and faculty, a new major in cinema studies was approved during a faculty meeting on Nov. 14. It will enable students to take film classes offered in various academic disciplines and have them count towards the major. It will begin next Fall.

Love of Dance Falls Forward, Doesn’t Fall Short

Lights up. Bodies on the floor swell, twisting to eerie music that streams downward. This is the setting for Fall Forward 2001, a concert that presents an eclectic mix of movement and dance styles, all choreographed by a variety of students as well as visiting artist Leslie Dworkin (OC ’85).

Lewis Working Toward Goal

Regarding John Scofield’s letter of Nov. 9:
1. The intentions behind the design of the Lewis Center included more than just considerations of energy use. The faculty, students, staff and others involved in the design chose also to emphasize daylighting, aesthetics and demonstration technology to maximize educational and research possibilities.
