April 5, 10:24 a.m. A staff member was transported from Lewis House to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of an asthma attack.


April 5, 9:25 p.m. A resident of Harkness reported receiving several nuisance phone calls since returning from Spring Break. Oberlin Police Department was contacted and a report was also filed through their office.

April 6, 3:39 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm in Dascomb. The cause of the alarm was found to be a humidifier that activated the smoke detector. 

April 6, 9:16 a.m. A student was transported from Burton Hall to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment after becoming ill.

April 6, 11:16 a.m. A staff member reported vandalism by the loading dock of Allen Art Building. Unidentifiable words were written in red spray paint.


April 7, 1:23 a.m. An officer, while on patrol of Wilder, heard glass break in the basement area. A check was made and it was discovered someone kicked in the northeast window of the Decafe. The incident is under investigation.


April 7, 2:07 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm at Tank. Upon arrival, it was found three fire extinguishers were discharged in the kitchen area for no apparent reason. The incident is under investigation.


April 7, 2:11 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Tank. The cause of the alarm was found to be dust in a detector.

April 7, 9:46 a.m. A staff member from Wilder reported the change machine in the game room was removed and missing. The machine is valued at $2500 and contained $100 worth of change. Oberlin Police Department responded for a report.


April 7, 5:21 p.m. An officer located an ill student in the women’s restroom on the first floor of Wilder. The student refused medical treatment, but requested transportation back to her dorm.

April 8, 6:15 p.m. A student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment after cutting her finger while using a paper cutter at the Photo Domes.

April 9, 9:44 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Kettering. The alarm was determined to be a malfunction.



April 10, 1:05 a.m. A student reported her green Franklin Road bike missing from the front bike rack at East Hall. The bicycle was locked at the time of theft.

April 10, 11:20 a.m. A student reported her JVC CD player/stereo missing from the second floor kichen at Barrows. The stereo is vauled at $150. The stereo was left unattended for a period of time.
