You Can Say that Again

"Usually we tell [Knight] not to shoot the three, to take it to the hole, but when he's on you can't say no."

- Cameron Levitt,
College First-Year
On teammate James Knight's 43 point performance against Denison.

Athlete of the Week
James Knight

Knight has returned to Oberlin basketball in full force as he poured in 43 points in the Yeomen's overtime loss to Denison this past Tuesday. After a year off from the team, Knight has already started to live up to his first season, in which he was chosen as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Newcomer of the Year. Also, he was selected to the all-tournament team following Oberlin'sq first two games at Adrian College. Against Denison on Tuesday, Knight shot 16 for 32 from the field, 5 for 7 from the three point line and pulled down 11 rebounds in the team's 88-85 loss.

IN THE LOCKERROOM WITH...Pretzdog and Tony Hawk Blake

This week, photo editor Brian Hodgkin interviewed the dudes behind the Review sports section. Yeah that's right, it's the editors Zach Pretzer and Blake Rehberg.

BH: Isn't this kind of lame that you're being interviewed in your section?
BR: Yeah, it's pretty lame, but it's Pretzer's idea.
ZP: I was pretty lazy all week and I couldn't think of a better way to expose Blake's lack of sports knowledge.

BH: Blake, considering your lack of knowledge of sports, don't you think you would be better off as an arts editor?
BR: I'd be much better off not working for the Review so I could get some sleep on Thursday nights.
[Zach laughs at Blake]

BH: Zach, I noticed that you recently quit the basketball team. Why?
ZP: I quit basketball so I could join the dwarf tossing league at the Oberlin Lanes on Sunday night.
BR: Actually, it conflicted with his ballet lessons.
[Zach gives Blake the bird]

BH: Earlier tonight, you two were involved in a ping pong paddle-hitting-the-butt incident?
ZP: That was just wrong.

BH: So you were being bad and Blake punished you?
BR: I wish we were in England so I could take a cricket paddle to his head.
ZP: I thought you were my friend.
[Blake laughs]

BH: Why are you guys allowed to do this interview?
ZP: Because [co-editor]Liz is nice and [co-editor] Nick isn't here.
BR: No, actually it's because Liz is a push-over and Nick's not here. Nobody reads sports anyways.

BH: Can you guys even really consider sports as having content?
BR: Personally, I don't care if anyone reads the sports section, but I feel that they should give the athletes more respect. Follow that up, bitch.
ZP: I don't really appreciate Blake's profanity, but I agree with what he said about athletes needing more respect here. I just hope no one reads his articles.

BH: Blake, you seem eager to leave.
ZP: What, do I smell or something?
BR: Yeah, it's your smell, the lameness of this interview and I have work to do.
ZP: I don't understand your hostility towards me. I think you're aquiesing your work.

BH: Aquiesing?
BR: Can you spell that Zach?
ZP: Can you spell b-l-o-w m-e?
