Is Alcohol Abuse a Problem at Oberlin, or is it Under Control?

Mike Lyon College Senior:
"I think it is under control. I think most people drink responsibly. Most of the cats who I know who got alcohol poisoning all got it freshman year. I think most people for the most part are responsible, especially compared to anywhere else."

Kerstin Ahlgren College Sophomore:
"I really don't think it's a problem, I think it's maybe a problem on a personal level, but it's not specific to Oberlin."

Timothy Hutton College Senior:
"I think there should be plenty more of it. There should be more aneurisms and more hematoma."

Jeremy Carlson College Sophomore:
"I think drinking here at Oberlin is better than at most schools simply because of the lack of fraternaties and sororities."

Gratia Strykar Conservatory Junior:
"I don't know. I don't go drinking all that often."

Sarah Kramer College Sophomore:
"I think it's under control for some people but not for other people."

Manfred Elfstrom College Junior:
"For the most part, people are in control of how much they drink."

Sabrina Rahman College Senior :
"I think it's under control. I have a lot of friends who go to schools where the social life completely revolves around drinking. It's not like that here."

Margot Schwartz Conservatory First-Year:
"Ha, ha, ha! It depends on how you define the word 'problem.'"
