For Student Senators, now is the time to listen

This is an open letter to the community.

Something traumatic has happened. People are hurt. People are confused. People disagree about where we are. People disagree about where we should go from here.

People do agree that we, as a community, need to do something. Student Senate should be at the forefront for positive change, but, at the moment, it is hard to know just what that might be. Just like the campus as a whole, we have reservations and differences of opinion.

We are going to do our best to keep moving forward with the issues we can all agree on: a better health plan, better support for students in need, and a more representative and responsive curriculum.

But as far as Dean Cole's resignation goes; there is a time to lead and a time to listen. For Senate, now is the time to listen.
