The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.
August 25, 9:58 p.m. Safety and Security Office responded to meet with a faculty member who reported the Harvey Lounge coffee table missing from its place in the lounge. Matter under investigation.
12:30 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to the Field House parking lot in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. Side window had been broken and cellular phone removed. Vehicle belonged to a parent of an Oberlin student. matter under investigation b Oberlin Police Department.
6:18 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to a dumpster fire outside of Dascomb Hall. Fire was extinguished by Oberlin Fire Department. Cause is under investigation.
12:39 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to meet with Residential Life Staff to end a party at Tank Hall whose organizers had not followed the proper procedure in scheduling their party.
8:08 p.m. Safety and Security Officer on patrol at Philips Gym received a report of a theft of a wallet and credit cards by forcible entry to a locker in the men's locker room.
August 30, 10:17 a.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to meet with the Conservator Monitor who reported an AV cabinet had appeared to have been forced open within a Conservatory room. No items are reported missing at this time; preventative steps were implemented.
4:05 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to a report of bats in Peters Language Lab. Bats were removed and released.
September 2, 9:12 a.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to the Conservatory where a student reported a backpack had been taken from a locker. no forced entry; a change of combination of the locker were made. Matter under investigation.
12:00 p.m. Safety and Security on patrol at Philips Gym was advised of attempted entry into a locker in the men's locker room. Entry was not gained, but combination lock was damaged.
10:20 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded to report from a student in the Conservatory that a violin on loan to him was missing from a locker. Lock was found to be unlocked. Matter under investigation.
1:44 p.m. Safety and Security Officer and Oberlin Police responded to the report of subjects vandalizing a vehicle parked in Union Street. Four subjects were apprehended by OPD, and vehicle owner was contacted.
5:20 p.m. Safety and Security Officer responded a report from a student of the theft of a bicycle from Johnson House. Bicycle had been locked to a post. Theft of the blue Huffy 10-speed was also reported to the Oberlin Police.
