Women's rugby third in last tournament

The women's rugby team got their first trophy on Saturday as a result of their third-place finish in the Teapot-Dome Scandal, a tournament held in Marian, Ohio.

The team beat Ohio Wesleyan University's squad 29-0. They then lost to Ashland University by about 20-0. They were scheduled to play Dayton College after this, but Dayton had to leave the tournament following their second game as a result of too many injuries.

Fortunately, Oberlin's Rhino Ruggers made it out of the tournament relatively uninjured. "We didn't have any major injuries," junior Tara Ikenouye said. "It was a small tournament and some teams didn't have full teams because of injuries."

This was the Ruggers last tournament of the season and they felt it went well. "We had a lot of people score," Ikenouye said. "It was a good experience and a positive way to end the season."
