Agreement worked out late last week
Associate Professor of Neuroscience David Holtzman agreed to resign last week, ending months of federal court proceedings and internal College processes. Holtzman agreed to drop all the charges he filed against the College, and the College also dropped its charges against Holtzman.
Betting pool organized for Talcott Formal last weekend
A bet at the Talcott Formal involved Conservatory students who pooled their money together in a competition to see whose date would win in a contest of several catagories.
Places strict limitations on all-campus mailings
All-campus mailings terminate at the end of this year as the College tries to reduce its paper consumption. The College hopes instead to promote other ways to distribute information, such as the computer network on campus. There will be some all-campus mailings permitted such as security alerts.
Senators debate upcoming Senate election
Senate is preparing for the future as they try to push elections forward with advertising. They also discussed guest policy and dress codes at their Sunday meeting.
Financial Counselor to aid Student Accounts
A financial counselor position is the newest addition to the Office of Student Accounts this year.The counselor will help students with financial problems as well as give advice on personal accounts, and should be hired this summer.
Goals for diverse faculty fulfilled with hard work
Diversity in the classroom is an everlasting goal of the College, and with new positions and tenure-tracks filled, the College is stepping nearer its goal of a diverse faculty.
Reverend Jed preaches again at Tappan Square
Reverend Jed Smock came to Tappan Square Tuesday to lecture against mortal sin. Students gathered to listen or argue about religion, sexuality and war. (page 5)
Student demands and economic factors shape new possibilities
Meal plan surveys are being evaluated by Residential Life and Services. The surveys will be finished by early next week, and the results will be made public. Many people think the dining situation is a very important issue for the College and they offer their comments about the issue.
