The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

April 12, 11:45 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer and Oberlin Police Department responded to a report of a student being assaulted by a black male driving a white car earlier this morning. The incident occurred off campus.

April 13, 10:52 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the theft report of a dark gray case containing CDs from the dance studio in Warner Center. The value of the CDs was estimated at $1,300 to $1,400.

1:04 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the report of an ill student in Longman Commons. The student was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

3:48 p.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to a fire alarm at Talcott. The cause was a malfunctioning detector.

4:27 p.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to a report that a student had some disturbing email at Barrows Hall.

April 14, 12:00 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a report of a missing microphone, valued at $6,000 to $8,000 from the Conservatory. The microphone was an AKG, C24 with power supply and cables.

1:03 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm activated by a burned bagel at the Snack Bar in Wilder Hall.

1:30 p.m. Safety and Security Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Peters Hall. The alarm was activated by carpenters working in the area.

5:08 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a report of students on the roof of Peters Hall. They were advised against being on the roof.

April 15, 12:30 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer and Student Life and Services staff responded to a report of a loud party at Barrows Hall. The party broke up.

7:15 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a fire alarm at Talcott. A work order was filed to replace a malfunctioning detector.

9:50 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the theft of two CDs and $250 from a student's room.

6:03 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer transported a student from Mudd Library to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of a cut to her head.

April 16, 12:42 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to an activated smoke detector in Keep. The detector was cleared of cigarette smoke.

6:35 p.m. Safety and Security Officers and Oberlin Police Department responded to a smell of natural gas by the fireplace of Old Barrows. The valve by the fireplace was shut off and further repairs are to be made.

April 17, 9:15 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a report of a theft of eleven New York Times newspapers from their drop-off point. The value of the loss was an estimated $11.

11:10 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the report of a telephone call from a male falsely claiming to be an acquiantance of the person receiving the call.

1:08 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to assist an employee at Dascomb kitchen who had cut her finger on broken glass. Transportation was provided to the emergency room for treatment.

2:52 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Field House. A pull station had been activated by a toddler who had left the area prior to arrival with the attending person.

8:02 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer resonded to the report of damage to a parked vehicle in Kettering lot. Oberlin Police Department also responded to continue the investigation of the private property accident.

April 18, 10:18 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the report from a college office that a single letter from a multiple mailing had not been received by the addressee. Report filed and referral to the U.S. Postal Service was made.

April 20, 10:10 a.m. Safety and Security Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at North Hall. Alarm was activated by smoke generated by buns left unattended in oven.

2:12 p.m. Safety and Security Officers responded to a report of two youths unaccompanied and acting suspiciously in Burton Hall. Youths were indentified by responding officers and parents were contacted.

April 21, 8:32 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer advised of a possible leak of coolant at the Ice Rink. Oberlin Fire Department and a rink official responded to close valves and arrange repair.

10:12 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to the report of missing articles of clothing belonging to a participant in a basketball game at Phillips Gym.

April 22, 1:21 a.m. Safety and Security Officers, Oberlin Fire Department and a Residential Life Area Coordinator responded to a series of fire alarms set off in north campus dormitories. Matter is under investigation.

10:30 a.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a report that a student had received some disturbing email at Asia House.

April 23, 7:10 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to assist a student who accidentally injured himself by breaking a window at the Conservatory. The student was treated at the Emergency Room for minor cuts.
