Clayton Koppes accepted the position of Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences on Thursday. Koppes was the unanimous choice among members of the dean search committee.
Anonymous fliers disturb search committee
The Women's Studies Committee was accused in anonymous posters posted around campus of not interviewing a qualified woman of color fo rthe senior faculty position and setting up a tokenized woman of color in the interview process.

Body applauds Stuart for her semester as dean
President Nancy Dye reported to Conservatory faculty at their meeting Tuesday plans on next semester's more intensive long-range planning activities. Dean of the Conservatory Karen Wolff will return in the spring.
Low-income students recieve additional $500
To counter the growing number of registration holds, $500 was added to the financial aid packages of low-income students. President Nancy Dye said the issue has been of concern to her recently.
NAMES project quilt comes to Oberlin
Over 1,000 panels of the Names Project AIDS quilt were displayed in the Heisman Field House last week. It was the largest display yet mounted in Ohio.
Selection process for committee still under way
The EPPC recently established a committee to address the possibilities of developing an International Studies program. In November, Senators began a petition drive to support International Studies, but stopped after receiving critcism from members of Third World Co-op.
Wilder inadequate for campus, many say
According to the long-range planning report, students at Oberlin are in need of a new student union. The current union, which presents a host of structural difficulties, has been criticized by some administrators for lacking certain facilities. Many students have said they would welcome a new union.
