Good job handling controversy

To the Editor:

My sister Chelsey told me she had made a web site . Neat, I thought, I bet she has some cute little links to the Marshmallow Peeps' home page. Oh the horror when I discovered the true content - Tribe 8, dildos, and the "vestigial leftover" that is the male nipple.

As an outsider looking in, I wasn't sure what to think of the whole situation, so I got informed and did my reading. What did I discover? I discovered that Oberlin students make me happy. So many of the articles and letters to the editor were incredibly right on; I don't know how controversy could still exist. I'd like to add something further in defense of Tribe 8's performance, but everything I want to say has already been said.

So rock on big sis', and to the rest of the Oberlin community, I'd like to extend a "well done" on handling this "controversy." I'm sure the issue has already been beaten into the ground, but I wanted to share my happiness. Such free, critical, intelligent thinking says wonders about the atmosphere at Oberlin. To the tight-assed (so to speak) opposition, I say lighten up and see how much sense many of the students make in their support of Tribe 8 - do some reading.
