Four Years of Photography

Four years ago I came to a photo meeting of the Review not quite sure what to expect. One new president, a few bike derbies, and almost two hundred published photos later I find myself leaving Oberlin having worked at the Review for my entire stay. The office and darkroom have been invaluable resources; the staff have been friends and teachers. So, in this last issue, I take a photographic walk down memory lane. I recall the quirks of Oberlin and the challenge of trying to capture them all on film. Who could forget the exuberance of being there to witness the only football win in four years? Or seeing the huge quantity of food that Stevenson produces every day? Or lying underneath a Spring Back dancer spinning around on a homemade jungle gym? And I never thought I'd be in the bathroom of East watching the swimming team shave all their body hair. It's been both uplifting and troubling, and I've learned more than could ever be communicated in a photo. At the end of it all, I must take a long last look around, put the lens cap back on my camera, and move on.
