Although he has been working for months now, Krislov’s inauguration last weekend officially welcomes him into the Oberlin community. Krislov’s lifelong dedication to the values that define Oberlin – opportunity, equality and social justice – and his deep appreciation of the value of academia, including the transformative role an educational institution can play in its broader community, demonstrate how great a leader he can be for Oberlin. He has been open, responsive, honest and dedicated to inclusive process.

Over the past several months of running into Krislov at events like TGIF, the Local Foods Festival, a study break in Mudd, sports games and an Organ Pump, I’ve come to trust that he not only gets Oberlin but loves the peculiarities and oddities that make Oberlin special.
