In the Locker Room With Sweet P.

Second-year Geoffrey Peterson
Position: Offensive Line
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 270 lbs
Home City: Brookville, PA

How did you get the nickname “Sweet P?”
GP: I wanted something fresh and different from my high school nickname of “P.” During my freshman year of college football, I introduced myself as “Sweet P.”

How has your image changed since you graduated from high school? Explain why you’re sporting a mullet as a hairdo
GP: Well, see, I had been growing my hair for the past two years and I went home this summer and promised everyone that I would grow out a mullet, so I did.

How does the mullet give yourself and All-NCAC linebacker Vance Murphy an advantage on the field?
GP: It makes us far more aerodynamic. See, it throws people off because we are all business in the front and party in the back. They are just dumbfounded.

Is it true that you may be the only football team in the country with two mullets and a mohawk on the field?
GP
: We have two guys with mohawks, long-snapper Jimmy O’Hare and safety Nick Bartlett. I would have to say we are pretty crazy when it comes to our hair.

Do you think Coach Jeff Ramsey would be willing to go with the mohawk if you go .500 as a team? What do you think Coach Ramsey would look like with a Mohawk?
GP: [Laughs]...that would just be great. But, Coach Ramsey loves his combover.

How did you get this big win against Macalaster? I mean, we had a Division III kicker blasting a 55-yard field goal. Do you think there is any connection to Victor Conte and BALCO?
GP: [Laughs]...definitely no connection there. We are all talent and wehave a great group of guys who came together in camp.

How did you survive the 12-hour drive from Oberlin to St. Paul,
Minn?
GP: A lot of movies and a lot of trips to the bathroom.

My research indicates that you sat next to receiver Cassius Harris for all 12 hours on the bus. Between you and I, does Cassius snore?
GP: No...but he constantly had his cell phone blowing up. So we had to put him up into one of those luggage compartments.

Now that Mike Tomlinson hit the 55-yard field goal and you were responsible for blocking...do you think times will change and the lineman and kickers will finally get the love that the quarterbacks and receivers get?
GP: I hope so, but I am glad to be a part of history.

Any predictions or outlooks as you move into NCAC play?
GP: No, we just got to get better every week.

How about this...if the Yeomen take the NCAC crown then the reporter goes with a mohawk?
GP: Yo, that works for me.

Thanks.
