To the Editors:

So Matthew Kaplan is running for student senate. Not Matthew Ari Kaplan the junior politics major but Matthew Aaron Kaplan the freshman basketball player.

This student election is so confusing that I almost voted for what I thought was myself before I realized that I wasn’t running.

I even received the e-mail from Student Senate telling me that I have been nominated. On further investigation it turns out that the other Matthew Kaplan was nominated, not me.

What does this remind me of? Butterfly ballots in South Florida, where old Jewish ladies voted for Pat Buchanan.

I demand either a position in Matt Kaplan II’s Student Senate administration or there should be recounts of all Junior and Senior Student Senate ballots.

So the question is, who did you think you were voting for? If you feel your constitutional rights as a student were violated in this election, please contact the Real Matthew Kaplan Voting Rights Fund (RMKVF) to register your complaints.
