BCS stands for bumbling, crappy system

What a travesty. The University of Southern California (the top-ranked college football team) will not play in the national title game. The number one team will not have the chance to become the undisputed champions.

The true national title game should be USC vs. Oklahoma. Even with Oklahoma getting blown out in the Big 12 championship, people have to remember how they manhandled every other team they played. Kansas State is a good team and just happened to find their weaknesses. Louisiana State is also a good team but when it comes down to it, I do not believe that they will be able to handle Oklahoma’s speed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do not believe that they should get rid of the BCS altogether; they just need to add the margin of victory back into the formula.

BCS BOWL PICKS
Who will win the Sugar Bowl?

Oklahoma they just have too much speed. LSU is going to have a difficult time trying to stop Oklahoma on offense. The Sooners are going to look for redemption in light of their recent loss to Kansas State and they are going to take out their anger on LSU. My prediction: Oklahoma 42, LSU 24.

Who will win the Rose Bowl?

Southern Cal Michigan will not be able to handle their offense. Michigan should keep it close, though. Running back Chris Perry will rush for more than 100 yards, but quarterback John Navarre will not be able to handle the pressure and will choke on the game-winning drive. When all is said and done, USC will be co-national champs. My prediction: USC 42, Michigan 38.

Who will win the Orange Bowl?

Florida State Miami cannot win without a steady hand at quarterback. Brock Berlin probably will start but won’t have much success. Florida State quarterback Chris Rix is not much better, but he will win the game on a last minute drive. My prediction: Florida State 31, Miami 28.

Who will win the Fiesta Bowl?

Ohio State Kansas State had their day in the sun against Oklahoma. Kansas State is going to give them a run for their money, but OSU will be ready for the screen game. Quarterback Craig Krenzel will lead them to victory this year as he did last year against Miami. Kansas State running back Darren Sproles will not have as easy of a time with the OSU defense, which may not be as fast as Oklahoma’s, but has smarts. Kansas State will have the lead for a good part of this game but Buckeye kicker Mike Nugent will come through with a clutch kick to win the game. My prediction: OSU 23, Kansas State 21.
