Trio will improve town-gown

To the editors:

I am writing to encourage students to vote on Tuesday for Daniel Gardner, Charles Peterson and Eve Sandberg as a slate running for city council.

I am a former Oberlin student, now a local resident, parent, and small business owner, and I've gotten to know Oberlin as a multi-dimensional community rather different from the images I remember from my college recruitment materials.

Oberlin is currently facing many important decisions pertaining to development, housing, and other complex issues, and it is crucial that the city leadership has the necessary skills to address these challenges.
These three candidates would bring to the council progressive vaues, good relational ability, and much practical experience in public policy and community organizing.

They bring to the table established professional relationships within and beyond Oberlin, with the school district, area churches, local employers, the college, as well as ties at the county and state levels, all of which can benefit our community.

Please read their platform to find out their positions on various issues and consider voting for each of the three candidates to elect a team which can bring a new strength and spirit to the council.
