The Edomnia Lewis Center for Women and Transgender People is a collective of students, faculty, staff and administrators doing the work of transforming existing systems of oppression based on sex, gender, race, class, sexuality, age, ability, size, religion, and nationality. We create and maintain safe space, initiate and fund programming, and serve as a resource for the Oberlin College community. We strive to maintain a space committed to anti-heterosexism and anti racism, that will allow us to support and advocate for those historically disenfranchised on the basis of gender: women and transgender people.
The purpose of the center is to serve as a resource for people who have been historically disenfranchised from higher education. The MRC works to support people of color, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as well as address the concerns of low-income, international and first-generation college students. They also have an awesome lending library!
The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life is a center for religious counseling, for supporting religious activities, and spiritual life, and for a wide range of educational, social, service and political action projects. Staff are available to join others in expressing and examining religious and moral perspectives on such issues as spirituality, race, sex, relationships, work, vocations, the economy, environment, government, education, and peace.
