I bring many credentials to the office at Oberlin. I am a certified pastoral minister in the Diocese of Cleveland. I earned my MA in Theology from St. Mary's Seminary and Graduate School of Theology. My area of concentration was Liturgy and Sacraments. Finally, I am a certified spiritual director through the Ignatian Spirituality Institute of John Carroll University. The ways I utilize the above credentials, to serve Oberlin as campus minister, include offering retreats and one-on-one spiritual direction. Sunday Liturgy on campus is important. I am always looking for ways to make that more vibrant, and include students in participatory roles. I look for ways to teach the faith, including an ExCo class on Discovering Catholicism. In addition, I am working on several Winter Term projects. Finally, programming is an important part of my job. I look for speakers who will enhance our faith, and broaden our understanding of the Catholic Church and its role in society. I enjoy meeting and getting to know students over a cup of coffee in one of Oberlin's comfortable shops. I've been married to Don for 32 years, and together we have two children: Deana and David. Deana is the light of my life, and David is the apple of my eye. I am blessed with several pets: Gracie the golden retriever, and Lilly my cat. I enjoy reading about my faith, and biographies, especially about my hero Robert Kennedy. I love walking and various other forms of exercise. I enjoy Nascar and visit several tracks each year. I especially enjoy foreign film, which has opened up new worlds to me. My office is in Wilder 217, and I invite you to stop by and visit. I'm never too busy to stop and hear what's on your mind. Please attend Newman events as you are able, including Sunday Liturgy.
