September 4, 2012: Hey everyone! It's that time once again - time to kick start the new school year! We here at OCET are super excited about the start to our new season. Today we took part in the Club Sports Fair out on Wilder Bowl - we even brought Leah, one of our fantastic lesson horses, out to Wilder Bowl to take part in the Club Sports Fair on campus! You can check out a photo of her on our Facebook page - just search for Oberlin College Equestrian Team. We have a lot of really exciting things happening this year, including Hunt Seat and Western shows (one of which will again be hosted at Oberlin!), and a first module athletics course called "Horseback Riding" taught by our very own Ric Weitzel! It's a great opportunity and we look forward to keeping all of you updated on everything that's going on this year.

November 20, 2011: With Thanksgiving approaching, OCET managed to finish out another great show season. Our Western team went to four shows at the University of Findlay and performed really well. Some of us riders from the English team even ventured to join them yesterday - we had a great time, and learned a lot about what it means to really ride western, and not just sit in a western saddle. Our hunt seat team only had one weekend of showing, but performed really well and had a great show - Molly MacInnes '13, won both of her classes!. Several of our riders are very close to pointing up and going to regionals this year. For now, we'll continue taking lessons and working on getting prepped for a fantastic show season next semester.

May 11, 2011: We finished out a fantastic season! Although unfortunately we ran into scheduling difficulties with our hunt seat shows, all of our riders learned a lot and got great experience in showing and lessons. Many of our hunt seat riders started taking lessons in western and even competing this semester! We also sent two riders, Erin Hodgson '12 and Liv Dedon '12, to the regional championships in western horsemanship, where they represented Oberlin with their fantastic rides! Stay tuned for information from our new officers.

August 26, 2010: Our newly updated website is complete! We're looking forward to a fantastic semester. Highlights will include a trip to the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky in October; hosting a scrimmage for our hunt seat team; and hosting our second annual intercollegiate western show!
