Welcome

Welcome to the Oberlin College Equestrian Team (OCET) website.

Please be patient with us over the next few weeks as we try to get this website up and running.

About OCET

The Oberlin College Equestrian Team is a club sport at Oberlin College. Members participate in weekly lessons and frequent team bonding experiences, and also have the option to show in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). We ride and compete in both Hunt Seat and Western disciplines. We also work closely with the Oberlin College Dressage Team, which provides lessons in Dressage and competes in the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA).

The Oberlin College Equestrian Team (OCET) was established in the 1980s by Jotham Tausig. In recent years, the team has grown from 10 members in 2004 to a whopping 41 members in 2007-2008, making OCET the biggest club sport at Oberlin. We welcome riders of all abilities as well as those who have never ridden before.

Our coach is Ric Weitzel of Equine Differences Farm, 1 mile north of the college in Oberlin. For more information about Ric and Equine Differences, please see the facilities link above.
