Senior John 'Ruby' Fedota is a co-captain of the Oberlin Flying Horsecows who recently earned a trip to the Ultimate frisbee national championships in Boulder Colo. The trip will be their fourth since 1992. Taking a few minutes out of a night of drinking and debauchery, John was kind enough to answer our questions. Usually a great one with words, he opted tonight for the strong, silent image.

So, nationals huh? Care to make an inspirational statement?
Umm, I dunno. We've made it 40% of the time this decade.

That's a statistic, not a statement.
Whatever.

This is Oberlin's fourth trip to nationals. How have we fared in the past?
One year we were asked not to come back, but we came back two years later. We're usually not in the top few teams. We do all right, we hold our own.

Do you expect to do better this year?
Utter domination.

Rumor has it your co-captain Ben Grubb has offered to cook omelettes for those who donate money to the team. Will these be plain or Western?
Definitely Western.

When our server crashed we lost an interview with your housemate 'Mad Dog.' How has he been coping?
He's a freak as usual.

So no real change?
No, nothing.

Being a four year vet and a co-captain, perhaps you can shine some light on this question: what is a Horsecow?
Hmm. How does the story go? It's a mythical creature from ancient New Jersey that came down and saved the world from all the other terrible ultimate teams.

Your housemate informs me that you're looking at weightlifting magazines. Would you care to elaborate?
No.

To a layperson, how would you describe ultimate frisbee?
It... uh...it, yes it... I dunno...it's stuff to do.

Anything else?
Nope.

Thank you for your time.
Later.
