Get Involved with OCOC

I) Join a Trip!

There are two ways to get out; the first (which is also the easist) is to join an upcoming trip. Many of our outing trips require no previous experience to participate, and we urge anyone to sign up. Some trips may be more specialized (such as more advanced climbing or kayaking trips), but these details are posted with the trip descriptions. Bear in mind that some trips may be more popular than others, and sometimes space is limited. Signing up atleast a couple weeks in advance will give you a good chance of joining the trip, as well as give the trip leader some time to prepare. Also important, trip leaders are required to provide transportation to all those participating, so if you have a car and are willing to drive, please let the leader know. They will appreciate it!

In order to participate in an OCOC-sponsered trip, we require you to become a member of OCOC. Fee membership per semester is $10.00, which directly pay for all the trips that we support as well as repairing and replacing gear. Member benefits include free gear rentals throughout the semester and its required for both participating in leading trips. Members also will receive by-weekly email newsletters with new trip announcements and happenings with the OCOC. We welcome new members at all times, so sign up as a member today!

II) Lead a Trip!

We are always looking for more leaders, and we urge all interested members to lead atleast one trip while here at Oberlin. Leading a trip is easier than you may think, especially if you co-lead with a friend or previous trip leader.
