booklet for Obercon 2008.
Interested in participating in Ogre vs. Squirrel, the D&D free for all? Here are the rules:
- Level 20 characters
- Characters must be generated by the time you show up at the table. There will be a one hour grace period during which you can put the finishing touches on your character before the game starts at 8:00PM. If there are pre-made characters available and you do not have a character by 8:00PM, you can use one of them. If you don't have a character when the game starts, you can't participate.
- You can use all content from D&D 3.5 books except: The Epic Handbook, Eberron, Oriental Adventures, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and The Book of Erotic Fantasies.
- Ability scores are standard point-buy, with starting points at 32. The base stat is 8, and your max stat is 18. As you will be at 20th level, you then have 5 stat points to distribute as you wish (from the bonus to your ability scores at 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th level). For more information on the point-buy system, see page 169 of the Dungeon Master's Guide v. 3.5.
- You have 200,000 gold to buy equipment with. You may buy equipment and magic items from all D&D 3.5 books except those mentioned above. No artifacts allowed.
